Account Director

The Account Director serves as a primary lead in managing the Search marketing Account Team for leading beauty brands and is the main point of contact for the Client, Search Engines and partner media agencies. This person will manage an Account Team consisting of 4-5 direct reports, reporting directly to the Senior Account Director.

The Account Director will be responsible for the overall Client relationship and account performance, striving to ensure that client expectations are met and exceeded on all fronts, including:

  • Account management
  • Marketing strategy & category management
  • Media planning & buying
  • Performance, analytics & reporting
  • SEO Strategy
  • Media & competitive landscape tracking

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Account Management

  • Oversees the client relationship with brands and is well-versed in the Client’s company culture while possessing an in-depth knowledge of the Beauty sector and search habits specific to each category within beauty.
  • Establishes the Goals, Benchmarks and KPI’s, and ensures that all client goals are being met
  • Leads all strategic search marketing planning, including category deep-dives, search marketing insights and trends, objectives, tactics and budget proposals across a multitude of platforms, including Google, Bing, Amazon Marketing Services, YouTube, Pinterest and Criteo
  • Provides strategic brand direction to Marketing & partner agencies for media planning, content & website development based on consumer search insights and trends.
  • Leads ongoing client status meetings and quarterly performance reviews, as well as Executive presentations.
  • Serves as primary point of contact for clients, partner agencies & search engines.
  • Remains abreast of industry news, digital media innovations, as well as clients’ competitor activities to proactively inform changes in strategy & media planning.
  • Responsible for maintaining the relationship with Search Engines on behalf of the client via regular status updates.

Team Management

  • Effectively communicates strategic vision, marketing & campaign objectives to the Account Team for execution.
  • Motivates, leads, and manages internal team of Account Managers and Analysts on day to day responsibilities associated with the client, including creation of ad copy & keywords, analysis, optimizations, reporting & billing.
  • Manages overall team meetings, oversees team workload and delegates tasks and deliverables.
  • Develop, implement, and manage department processes regarding training, development, project execution and delivery, and client relationship management.
  • Fosters a positive yet challenging environment of teamwork, collaboration and intellectual curiosity to exceed client goals & expectations.
  • Assists in interviewing, hiring, training, mentoring, developing, and evaluating team members.


  • 4-5 years of experience in Paid Search on eCommerce/Retailer accounts, with extensive experience in Shopping campaign management
  • Experience managing and mentoring direct reports
  • Ability to work and optimize directly in Editor tools, as well as Search Ads 360 or Kenshoo
  • Rigor, an analytical nature and very high attention to detail
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel & Presentation skills
  • Can perform under intense pressure & thrives in a very fast-paced work environment
  • Self-starter / entrepreneurial nature that can wear many hats and is willing to be hands-on in the accounts or other client deliverables when necessary
  • Highly personable and persuasive, with a drive to exceed client expectation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Willingness to learn, positive attitude, team player mentality
  • Works independently and with minimal supervision
  • Native or near-native English language proficiency
  • A passion for the Beauty & Cosmetics industry
  • SEO experience a plus but is not necessary. Extensive training will be provided to the right candidate.
  • Bachelor’s Degree

An estimated 30% of time would be spent in client or interagency meetings.
