Analytics Lead

Our client is looking for an Analytics Lead to join their client-facing media team. This dynamic analyst will help assess and improve brand and media performance via a variety of tools and analytical techniques, with the goal of helping determine and report where leads and conversions are coming from as well as the optimal media channel mix and budget allocations.

Your core role will be delivering clear and precise reporting that ensures the company is constantly learning and optimizing. You (and eventually your team) will lead all dashboard reporting, helping company clients create and access simple, real-time reports to allow every stakeholder to have the most relevant and important pieces of information at their fingertips. We are looking for an ambitious, analytical, hands-on individual with a strong interest in media, marketing and business intelligence.

We are also looking with someone who can grow into a director role, defining the tools we need to purchase and implement to have robust data management and reporting systems.

Essential Functions

Immediate:

· Manipulate multiple sources of data to analyze the state of clients’ businesses across multiple dimensions (sales, brand equity, search interest, website visits, social media, advertising activity)

· Data Extraction, Transformation & Loading (ETL), Quality & Hygiene

· Help set up tagging and tracking infrastructure in Google/DCM and any other ad servers

· Create Dashboards using a variety of data visualization tools

· Apply independent critical thinking to analyze vast data sets to uncover media insights, what’s working, what’s not working.

· Collaborate with brand planners/strategists to deeply investigate and provide POVs on industry trends, media & analytics products, and client performance

· Participate in brainstorming sessions with account, digital, and strategy leads

o Compile and assess competitive advertising media intelligence

o Assist in the design, execution, and management of custom analyses to generate meaningful insights

Long Term:

· Propose and test a variety of analytical techniques, ranging from data mining, to statistical modeling and numerical optimizations on a wide range of data sources such as sales, brand equity, media performance, audience behavioral data, and survey responses to better measure and substantiate client performance

· Develop systems and/or databases to automate consolidation and cleaning of data and extraction of insights

· Interest in developing proficiency in programming skills leading towards automated manipulation/cleansing of data (eg. in SQL, Stata, etc.)

Qualifications

Education:

· B.A./B.S. in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Business, Science, or Engineering from an accredited college/university

· M.A./M.S. in related field preferred

Work Experience:

· 2+ years of experience in an analytics function and media

Soft Skills

· A genuinely curious person that has a desire to apply data analytics solutions to better understand trends in media, advertising, business, and culture

· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic media agency environment

· Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

· Comfortable actively participating and contributing in meeting settings with multiple stakeholders

· Exceptional time and project management skills to deliver on complex projects

· Ability to assist in preparation of PowerPoint presentations

· Ability and desire to learn an ever-evolving suite of data analysis software, coding languages, and media measurement tools

Technical Skills

· Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint

· Proficiency with Google Analytics and DCM as well as an ability to learn tangential data

· Knowledge of Tableau or Dataroma

· Participate in agency and external personal growth & education initiatives

· Programming experience in at least one of the following: Python, R or SQL a plus
