Director of Digital Marketplaces

Our client is a leading full service integrated digital marketing agency dedicated to bringing innovative and consumer centric solutions to their clients. We are looking for a Director of Digital Marketplaces to develop their Marketplace sales and revenue strategy in collaboration with business development, account management and practice teams in order to develop the sales pipeline.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Marketplace strategy and business plan by identifying, creating and coordinating new partnership solutions
  • Achieve and exceed long-range strategic objectives by setting individual and organizational goals, objectives, budgets and sales targets
  • Be responsible for the preparation and presentation of Marketplace business plans externally and externally
  • Align business with the Marketplace roadmap, including developing new content, establishing training, presenting their story internally and externally and build a Marketplace center of excellence within the company
  • Provide thought leadership on the industry, which includes competitive analysis and customer preferences across Marketplaces
  • Build a Marketplace team
  • Holistic channel management, including liaising with client-side operational teams to provide strategic recommendations, client-ready plans, advertising, content development and optimization, merchandising and product recommendations, reporting and analysis
  • Implementing media plans across marketplaces, including connecting with other paid media and client-side stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of all marketplace players and their capabilities for sellers and marketers (Amazon, eBay, Target, Walmart, Jet, Criteo/Hooklogic)
  • Knowledge of where marketplaces fit within a brand’s overall business strategy, and how to best leverage thier growth across all verticals
  • Experience in executing or closely overseeing end to end Amazon programs, including full channel management (1P and 3P), advertising on and off platform and content optimization
  • Ability to provide strategic recommendations to brands across all aspects of marketplace management, including selling and marketplace relationships, fulfillment options, product strategy and merchandising opportunities
  • Understanding of implications of selling on marketplaces, including operational requirements and resourcing needs
  • Stay up to date on the latest changes in marketplace offerings and provide POVs to clients and through agency blog posts
