SEO Manager

The SEO Manager will be responsible for leading organic search optimization, striving to ensure

that client expectations are met and exceeded on all fronts. This person will report to the

Director of SEO.

 

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience in SEO, preferably in an agency environment
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and clients
  • Familiarity with relevant SEO tools (ex: Screaming Frog, MOZ, aHrefs, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Brightedge)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business Analytics, or related field required
  • High proficiency with Excel and comfortable manipulating large datasets
  • Experience managing on-page optimizations (ex: metadata, keyword usage, internal linking, etc.)
  • Proficient and experienced with technical SEO (ex: XML sitemaps, canonicalization,hreflangs, robots.txt, HTTP responses and headers, URL redirects, etc)
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to dig into metrics and analytics to deliver insights and solutions
  • Experience with content strategy as it relates to enterprise-size client domains
  • Experience working with ecommerce sites and mass market brands and can quantify the marketing impact of SEO work in client-facing settings
  • Comfortable in client-facing settings and able to tailor presentations to the audience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

 

Not required, but a plus:

  • Paid search experience not required but is a plus
  • UX and conversion optimization experience is a plus
  • Interest in the Beauty & Cosmetics categories not required, but is a plus

 

Key Responsibilities/ What you’ll do:

  • Be the client-facing SEO manager for multiple brands of an industry-leading global consumer packaged goods company
  • Act as internal SEO subject matter expert for your account team and provide strategic direction, specific content recommendations, and technical guidance to them as well as to clients
  • Develop and provide SEO strategies, best practices, and guidelines for upcoming product launches, product line updates, and site relaunches 
  • Spearhead technical diagnostic crawls and perform extensive site audits that address UX, navigation optimizations, mobile functionality, backlink profile, link architecture, competitive landscape, and more
  • Conduct keyword research to guide content teams and provide on-page optimizations for content refreshes and new product copy
  • Handle day-to-day communicate with clients on statuses, timelines, deliverables, reporting, and various ad-hoc requests
  • Interface with the client’s web developers to provide technical guidelines and best-practices
