SVP of Data & Analytics

Our client is searching for a SVP of Data & Analytics to oversee the work and evolution of their data and analytics experts. This senior most leadership position sets the compass for, ensures flawless execution by, and demands forward-focused innovation from, a team of 20+ including data scientists, data architects, data visualization experts, measurement designers and analytics consultants. The SVP of Data & Analytics serves as an industry thought-leader representing this data-first organization.  

Key Accountabilities:

  • Engage the data & analytics team including, but not limited to, setting the internal-facing strategy within our company
  • Manage and mentor a wide range of subject matter experts from various disciplines including Analytics Consulting, Data Science, Measurement Design, Data Management Services, and Data Journalism
  • Advocate for the Data & Insights discipline with senior most executive leadership and accept accountability for the overall performance of the team
  • Partner with Chief Technology Officer to develop a data warehouse strategy and analytics platform solution that accommodates agency wide data needs as well as an environment appropriate for advanced analytics capabilities (AI, machine learning, etc.) 
  • Serve as senior spokesperson for the company’s data and analytics discipline at industry events, client meetings, and in new business efforts.
  • Consult with large Fortune 500 clients to create both generic and bespoke data and analytics techniques and solutions to fit their needs while benefitting the company at the same time
  • Be a roll-up-your-sleeves-hands-on leader; work directly with team to solve particularly challenging issues, share knowledge, and employ best practices
  • Reports to the Chief Strategy Officer

Qualifications:

  • 10 + years’ experience leading a complex multi-industry data and analytics organization
  • At least 5 years of experience specializing in marketing analytics
  • Strategic thinker who is willing to roll up their sleeves and get into the data
  • Proven experience leading and inspiring a high-performing team
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven “on-site” performer in consulting with large-scale, high-profile clients across numerous industries
  • Understanding and familiarity with advanced analytics practices (Descriptive Statistics, Linear Regression, Forecasting)
  • Knowledge of database marketing principles, database structure, direct marketing principles and best in class methodologies
  • Conceptual grasp of marketing technologies and/or solutions such as attribution modeling, cross-device measurement, programmatic media (DMP, DSP)
