Operations/Plant Manager

Our client is a fast growing contract food manufacturer that specializes in a variety of baked goods and snacks. They prioritize quality and food safety within their highly flexible facility. They are looking for an Operations/Plant Manager to join their team. In this role, the Operations/Plant Manager will partner with the General Manager to drive on-floor manufacturing and related processes to support rapid growth and productivity improvement.

. Job Description:

  • Provides operational and cultural leadership across the facility, driving safety, quality, and productivity measures and behaviors
  • Improves communication within and across teams, shifts, and functional areas
  • Creates and manages processes to improve production efficiency, throughput, quality, and safety
  • Ensures good hiring and training practices within the team to quickly and effectively grow the team
  • Manages Supervisors and Warehouse
  • Manages Maintenance
  • Works with Supervisors to structure the production team, identify employees who have ability and desire to take on more responsibility, and create and execute training and coaching plans for those employees
  • Create incentive programs for employees at all levels to build the culture and results desired, while delivering budget objectives
  • Works with Supervisors to create, manage, and provide appropriate incentives to Lead Operators and Quality and Key Operators
  • Is responsible for creating and maintaining metrics around production (throughput, uptime, scrap, etc), safety, and quality
  • Is responsible for ensuring cleaning and sanitation (daily and MSS) is executed in a timely and effective manner
  • Initially will report to President/Owner, transition to reporting to General Manager

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills and a strong sense of ownership
  • Ability to organize people and processes
  • Experience in creating and managing to metrics
  • Excel at being a strong partner with a team and peers to deliver good outcomes to the company and their customers
